International Institute in Geneva
The Doctorate Program is offered in partnership with the University of Plymouth.

The University of Plymouth is one of the UK’s most prominent and dynamic universities with an educational history dating back to 1862. The Sunday Times University Guide 2011 named Plymouth as one of the top three universities in the United Kingdom.

These research-based doctoral degrees expose participants to an intellectually rigorous program of study. It is designed to enable participants to synthesize and develop managerial and professional practice, theoretical understanding and reflexive capability.

The Doctorate of Business Administration is run in Geneva with industry leading professors from the University of Plymouth and the International Institute in Geneva undertaking workshops, seminars and lecture program at IIG.

This program is part-time courses where the research will be done under the joint supervision of staff from the International Institute in Geneva and the University of Plymouth. The degree of DBA is issued by the University of  Plymouth.

If you have a master's degree (strong professional experience required if you don't have a master's degree), you must submit the first set of documents below to dba@iig.ch before the deadline mentioned for each admission cycle below:

- Initial Research idea - Brief Abstract (Describe the research area or topic that you hope to investigate ideally on one of the following research priorities for the Plymouth Business School in approximately 1000 words  

2nd set of documents to submit     

- Copy of your passport and a photo                                                                        

- Reference letters (min two and at least one should be academic)                       

- Your transcripts and degree certificates for bachelor and master (in English)                                                                                                  

- IELTS (academic level) or equivalent for applicants whose education was not in English: Min overall 6.5 and 5.5 in all components

Designed for careers in Business Management

The Master of Business Analytics and AI is designed for young professionals interested in Data science/analytics which is now a critical skill for every manager in digital age. This program provides the technical skills and business vision to understand, work and decide with the data: a comprehensive introduction to Big data, databases, opportunities and challenges, how to explore/analyze/visualize ‘big data’ sets to derive insights, how to communicate them as well as how to use Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning methods to support decision making and digital transformations for both private and public organizations.

The Master of International Management (MIM) is designed for students interested in pursuing careers in international business management. The degree is geared towards recent undergraduates or working professionals with less than two years of experience. The MIM provides a comprehensive introduction to international management: how do companies market and operate at an international level? What are the communication and cultural challenges for businesses today? What are the ethical and social responsibilities of the business world?

Designed for careers in International Economic and Commercial Relations

This increased demand was called for by the international employment sectors and students who would like to pursue and progress in their careers at the international trade organizations, diplomatic services, chambers of commerce and the financial sectors. The (MITF) is a high standard program that provides a comprehensive introduction to practical aspects of successful Trade & Investment Promotion, Corporate Governance and International Negotiations combined with an understanding of the technical aspects of Risk Management, Financial Accounting and Project Management. The MITF offers understanding of Global Economics and Corporate Finance techniques and keep students up to date with the latest developments in FinTech and the Digital Transformation world. The program includes visits to major international trade and financial organizations in Switzerland.

Designed for careers in International Organizations, Diplomatic Services and Private Sector

The Master of International Relations and Diplomacy (MIR-D) responds to the growing demand to train young professionals in Geneva for decision-making careers in international organizations, diplomatic services and private sector. Situated in the same city as the United Nations headquarters in Europe, the program takes full advantage of Geneva’s unique situation as a world capital of multilateral diplomacy. The MIR provides substantial resources for its international faculty and student body to network with international institutions (UNHCR, UNECE, UNCTAD, WTO, WHO, ILO, ITU, WIPO, WEF, ICRC) and diplomatic missions.

Doctorate

The doctorate degree is awarded by the University of Plymouth (UK) while the 3 extended weekend workshops during the taught phase are run at (IIG) in Geneva. It is specifically designed for the working professionals who have the motivation to expand their knowledge/skills and get a degree without interrupting their work.
