The Institute is located in Geneva, in the heart of Europe, the centre of many international organisations, non-governmental organisations and the headquarters of countless multinational companies and the centre of dialogue for many of today's global issues. Furthermore, the central location of the city of Geneva allows for easy travel (only one-hour flight) to major European cities such as London, Paris, Brussels and Milan.
IIG students receive an education that combines theoretical instruction with practical experience. The professors bring a wealth of knowledge from both the academic world and their work experience in the public and private sectors.
The International Institute in Geneva is a private institution of higher learning specialising in business-related degrees to help prepare students for successful careers in fields such as marketing, finance, human resources, international relations, communications and information technology. Our students have gone on to work in banking, advertising, luxury goods, pharmaceuticals and medical fields as well as international organisations and non-governmental organisations. Many have taken over the family business.
IIG ensures that classes are limited to a maximum of 30 students. Therefore, students benefit from interactive teaching with direct feedback from the teachers.
The International Institute in Geneva has established a strong network, developing a unique exchange programme with more than 30 major academic institutions worldwide. The Program offers a wide range of opportunities for students from universities within the IIG networks in Europe, the United States, Central and South America, Asia and the Middle East, (link to countries on the page with the list), to spend a semester at IIG and earn credits at their institution. It also allows IIG students to spend a semester at another university and get credit at IIG. Some of the universities in the network offer students the possibility of obtaining a double degree with IIG.
Thanks to the multi-nationality of the student body and faculty, IIG graduates have a permanent link, through the Alumni, to a worldwide network of professionals in the public and private sectors.
Students benefit from IIG's extensive international network in the public and private sectors. Thanks to the teaching staff and the career advisor, IIG has acquired a wide network of contacts and a solid reputation in the international sector. Several students have been able to obtain various internships in important international organisations and in the private sector.
In addition, IIG has an excellent record of employing its graduates. IIG's degree enables its graduates to adapt the techniques they have learned and gives them in-depth knowledge and experience in their chosen discipline.
IIG organises many social events (link to social events page) such as excursions to European cities, ski weekends in and around Switzerland, as well as an annual barbecue, many student parties, and trips to the countries of the universities in our extensive exchange programme.
